The region’s tastiest show returns for its third bite to the Scotiabank Convention Centre, in Niagara Falls (SCCN). The three-day public show has proven to be highly popular for the last few years; and it is expected to welcome thousands of hungry and thirsty travelers from across the United States and Ontario for a fun-filled weekend beginning Friday, April 26 to Sunday, April 28, 2013.
“Niagara’s amazing selection of culinary experiences are well represented at this year’s Food & Wine Expo,” says Kerry Painter, SCCN President & General Manager. “Visitors will be able to sample delicious dishes from dozens of the region’s restaurants, cafes and even food trucks, which will be showcasing their finest mouth-watering dishes. This tasty event offers something for EVERYONE!” adds Kerry.
This year, food lovers can enjoy a celebrity live auction hosted by world renowned guest speaker, Kevin Brauch, from ‘Iron Chef America’ and Host of Food Network Canada’s ‘The Thirsty Traveler’. The auction will support the Breast Cancer Society of Canada and will take place on Saturday, April 27 beginning at 5pm. Attendees will have the opportunity to bid on fantastic prizes such as: a 90-minute tour of the Niagara Food & Wine Expo hosted by wine makers and industry professionals. Winners will also have a chance to interact one-on-one with Kevin Brauch on an exclusive tour of the Niagara Food & Wine Expo. On Saturday, April 27, 2013, attendees can enjoy an hour and a half of sipping and savouring the very best of internationally awarded wines with VINES Magazine Editor and InterVIN Head Judge, Christopher Waters.
In addition to the celebrity auction, attendees can explore and taste a wide assortment of exotic craft beers and ciders including: Silversmith from Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, Lake of Bays Brewing Co. from Northern Ontario to Delirium Tremens, Fruli, St. Bernardus and Kronenbourg 1664 Blanc. This year, food lovers can enjoy the flavours from a number of locally established restaurants including: Copacabana, Ivy Bar, Rockway Vineyards, Red Canoe Bistro, Terrapin Grille and many more.
