Illumination Board Shines Enhanced Spotlight on Niagara Falls New LED Lighting Technology to be Unveiled to the Public
Niagara Falls, ON – The Niagara Falls Illumination Board is pleased to announce that it will officially unveil its $4M enhanced Falls illumination project, in a ceremony to be held on Thursday, December 1 at Queen Victoria Place, in Niagara Falls, Ontario.
As part of its ongoing role to support the destination, the Board is pleased to report that the lighting upgrades, the first to have taken place in more than twenty years, will provide more than twice the current lighting levels of the Falls being attained, while providing a broader and more robust colour spectrum for all those wishing to view and experience the beauty and majesty of Niagara Falls at night.

5:00 p.m. – Free live entertainment on concert stage at Illumination Tower
6:00 p.m. – Ceremony on concert stage/Niagara Falls go dark
6:10 p.m. – Enhanced lighting unveiled
6:25 p.m. – Fireworks Display
6:30 p.m. – Free live entertainment resumes on the concert stage
Who: Niagara Falls Illumination Board Chair, Mark Thomas, along with consortium partners will be available for interviews and photo opportunities. Live entertainment will begin at 5 p.m. on the Illumination Tower Stage.
NOTE: Technical tours of the Illumination Tower and media briefings with consortium members (ECCO Electric Ltd, Salex Inc, Mulvey & Banani Lighting Inc, Sceneworks and Stanley Electric) will be scheduled during the afternoon of December 1. Established in 1925, The Niagara Falls Illumination Board is made up of representatives from the City of Niagara Falls Ontario, the City of Niagara Falls, New York, Ontario Power Generation Inc., The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation and The Niagara Parks Commission. It is the Illumination Board’s responsibility and mandate to finance and maintain the nightly illumination of both the Horseshoe and American Falls.
